this faq supplements only mentions to there alix/wrap embedded m0n0wall 
 
Q: can I use pfSense instead of m0n0wall image
A: yes, but pfSense produces more CPU load, and also the releases still in developing,
m0n0wall disto is very stable and a solide state version
 
Q: Is there a 1U chassis available for the alix m0n0wall ?
A: yes, rackmount case will house two WRAP or two ALIX 2C3 system boards
available on http://linitx.com
 
Q: how many clients are supported this m0n0wall
A: these embedded m0n0wall are running already in much company,
some have now more then 100 users currently they are stay behind
 
Q: do adding additional packages like NTOP they enough performances? I'm afraid the 233 MHz CPU won't be able to handle all services at once with active monitoring
A: possible for an efficient firewall statistics, we recommend to using remote syslog and SNMP
 
hint: an excellent traffic grapher is MRTG build from Tobias Oetiker. here the howto find in this knowledgebase. also usefull is fwanalog build from Balazs Barany that are using remote syslog, a howto for m0n0wall you will find also in this section. WallWatcher are another firewall log analysis tool for Windows that supports m0n0wall.
 
Q: how long will the warranty period?
A: we offer one year warranty for the embedded m0n0wall, terms of PC-Engines
 
Q: is it possible to set-up vpn tunnels to other firewalls
A: yes, already got successfuly results with the following devices:
  • ZyXEL ZyWALL's
  • FortiGate series
  • Cisco router series
  • Cisco pix 506E
  • Linksys VPN Routers
  • Checkpoint firewall
  • Draytek Vigor
  • SonicWALL
  • WatchGuard Firebox
  • IPCop
 
Q: It is a IPsec VPN Remote client available to use with m0n0wall?

Q: Is there a syslog daemon available for windows to log m0n0wall?
A: Yes, KLog is a free Win32 implementation of *nix syslog daemon to able support remote logging.
 
Q: How do I use the serial console connection of the embedded m0n0wall
A: Attach serial cable and set your terminal speed to 38400 Bps, 8 data bits, parity none, stop bits 1, flow control by hardware. For more followup Connecting to the WRAP/ALIX serial console
